Republican support for the war waning

Yet another Republican is changing his position on the war. Are Republicans jumping ship in an attempt to distance themselves from W in '08? Probably so, as W's popularity is in the toilet. Here's a recent poll showing that about 45% of Americans support an impeachment.

I don't think impeachment accomplishes anything at this point. The damage has already been done.

There were just too many ideologues in positions of power over the last six years. Delusion has a tendency to impede competence.

could set a precedent...stating that abuse of executive power will not be tolerated. that is a positive benefit of going through the process. the lies and abuses of power by the administration should certainly be checked.

It's really a judgment call involving a great deal of care and calculation. Gerald Ford deserves credit in my opinion for pardoning Richard Nixon. It was not the popular thing to do and it may have cost him the election of 1976. But he had the backbone to do what he thought was right for the nation.
